Over the past few months Charizma Entertainment has been doing amazing events all over the Chicagoland area. Everyone is looking for that perfect space to host their celebration. From the Lion House of Lincoln Park Zoo to the Discovery Center Brookfield Zoo, these venues can really add a different twist to your event. If you are looking to add the beauty of the outdoors, Cantigny Park and Morton Arboretum will add nature’s elegance to an indoor or outdoor event. If your taste is in the arts and culture, the Italian Sports Hall of Fame and Highland Park Art Center each add their own uniqueness to your event. The personality of each event space can inspire your family and friends to look at celebrating in a whole new way. For raw space Room 1520 and the Metroplis Ballroom will let your vision come alive. Are you a lover of microbrewery? Check out The Onion Pub and Brewery – they make their ale on site. No matter what you are looking for there is an event space to fit everyone’s taste. Each venue has specifics of what you can and can’t do so make sure you read the contract and ask lots of questions. Your celebration can be everything that you want and hope for it to be. How can I help you create the perfect moment?
This week, Emcee Walt traveled to Concorde Banquets in Kildeer, IL to rock a wedding. The bride and groom only had one request for this celebration – they wanted everyone to have the best time they possibly could – and Walt made sure that became a reality. Friends and family all gathered around and danced their hearts out. At the end of the night, as a partied out crowd started leaving the venue, Walt made sure they all had smiles on their faces. Spontaneous Perfection: another job well done!
This week, Arianna rocks out at Carnivale Chicago for a seriously high energy b’nai mitzvah. As with any b’nai mitzvah, it has to be twice the fun – and there’s no one better to coordinate that than Arianna – she really knows how to get the crowd rockin’. The girls said their favorite part of the party was the dancing and the music, and as you can see in the video, that is absolutely true. Everyone left with giant smiles on their faces, so we chalk that up to an absolute success… Also, the food at Carnivale is nothing short of heavenly. High energy and spontaneous perfection from start to finish, that’s the Charizma way.
This year marks year 4 that Charizma will join forces with New Trier High School for probably one of the most insanely fun school dances this side of the Mississippi. Everyone is decked out, dressed to impress and ready to have a blast, including us! If you haven’t taken the time to check out the video above… do so now… we’ll wait.
2 DJs, 1 MC, a live band, and probably the most technologically advanced lighting setup to ever be constructed at a high school. On Sunday May 31st, Charizma Entertainment and New Trier High School will make history. Again.
Charizma Entertainment is back again at Beau Jolie, but this time in the Chocolate Room for Ashley and PJ’s wedding! The room was absolutely stunning, the guests were all excited and the energy was electric. When we met with the couple before the wedding they were very specific about wanting to create an authentic, soulful vibe for their friends and family because they were both so into music. We knew a fun blend of soul and rock would be the key to victory for everyone at the event. For any DJ / MC the challenge is always to make sure everyone’s musical taste is being accommodated, and when Ashley and PJ said “Marz gets us… Charizma knows what a wedding needs to be, they feel the vibe and really make sure the clientele knows whats going on” … We knew we nailed it. We have always been believers of ‘Spontaneous Perfection’ – that feeling of living in the moment and making sure its absolutely perfect, which is why we work so hard to make it a reality for our clients. When we are able to look around a room and see 10 year olds, 30 year olds and 70 year olds all dancing with huge smiles on their faces, we know we’ve spread the message correctly. It is this notion that keeps us going, and keeps people coming back. We wish Ashley and PJ all the best – the wedding was a knockout and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store. Make sure you check out the video! Thank you for visiting the Charizma Family.
The time has come once again for Charizma and Resurrection High School to team up for our 3rd annual Jr. Prom! We’ll be loading up the truck with photo booths, uplights and tons of DJ gear to make this party even more amazing than last year! If you haven’t checked out the video yet, make sure you give it a watch!
Every year before party time, we head over to Resurrection High to meet with all the girls to talk about music. Because this is an all girls Catholic school, we always want to make sure that the party (and music) are within the bounds of the administration and the values that they hold. We make sure the music they are asking us to play is appropriate and ‘radio friendly’. Asking the girls to help us create playlists is a great way to get everyone involved so it feels like their party as much as it is ours. Since school parties generally rely ONLY on music selection, it must be perfect.
We are truly honored to be doing this event for the 3rd year in a row – we always have a great time with these kids, and it’s good to know they have a great time, too. Victoria in the Park is a beautiful venue, big enough for everyone to dance freely, but intimate enough to create just the right mood. Last year was a great year for dance music and we are super excited to have a blast this year!
This week, you’ll get an inside glimpse on what goes into a traditional Thai wedding. Marz and the Charizma crew traveled to Victoria’s Beau Jolie Grand Ballroom for Josh and Wisa’s special day. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful – the guests were all smiles and taking tons of pictures as rings were exchanged, followed by a traditional Thai water ceremony. If you don’t know about the water ceremony, in Thai culture its technically the most important part of the wedding. This is the time where the couple actually becomes husband and wife. Each of the elder guests approach the water pouring table and offer kind words as they pour holy water from a conch shell over the bride and groom’s hands.
One of the coolest things about being in the event and entertainment business is no two events are ever the same. In essence, a mitzvah is a mitzvah and a wedding is a wedding, but each party has its own unique personality and character that is never duplicated. In addition, each group of people we have the pleasure of interacting with have their own set of traditions and ways of doing things that are special to them and very special to us. We pride ourselves on the ability to adapt to all of these situations and provide our clients and friends with our brand of Spontaneous Perfection no matter what.
The Charizma crew had the pleasure of traveling to the Crowne Plaza Chicago Northbrook for a quinceanera, and it was nothing short of amazing. The room was electric, and everyone had smiles on their faces as traditional dancing and music happened all around. For this event, we provided a custom monogram for the dance floor, beautiful drapery around the room, incredible uplighting and of course DJ entertainment. As you’ll see in the video above, uplighting is a great way to really make your room come alive and interact with the music. When its a slow song, the lights scroll through colors slowly and completely change the feeling of the room, and when it’s everyones favorite dance song, the room explodes with vibrant colors and turns the energy all the way up.
No matter what event you have in store, Charizma is here to make it happen – from super traditional to ultra casual, we have a blast and make sure you do, too. We specialize in preserving traditions and taking the weight off of your shoulders so you can sit back and enjoy the incredible party that’s in front of you. If you’re considering entertainment for your next event, we truly appreciate you considering our family at Charizma.
The time has come yet again for Charizma to take part in the Lake Forrest Country Day School’s annual father / daughter dance! We love doing this event year after year because seeing the relationship between a father and his daughter is something that seriously pulls on the heart strings. Men dress their best for the little ladies in their lives, dancing and smiling in the moment – we wouldn’t miss that for the world (especially when the dads dance to Taylor Swift just to put a smile on their daughter’s face)
This year’s dance was Renaissance themed, and it was nothing short of a spectacle. There were entertainers dressed to impress everywhere (including Marz) doing flips, playing songs and putting smiles on faces. The reason we like themed parties so much is because it gives everyone a middle ground to really show off personal creativity – headbands, traditional hats, ruffles and tights – the whole nine yards!
Make sure you check out the video above to get a better feel for why we care so much about this event. Also, feel free to contact us regarding any questions about an event you may be having – we’d be happy to help in any way we can.
As always, we know you have a choice when it comes to entertainment, and we truly thank you for considering Charizma.
Marz and the Charizma crew headed out to Ivanhoe Country Club in Mundelein for Hailey Kanters Bat Mitzvah! This was the 2nd party Charizma has done for the Kanter family and it was an absolute blast. Seeing the same faces of friends and family again years later is always a great feeling when joining a family for a special celebration. We started off the night with a little cocktail hour trivia to see how well Hailey’s friends knew her, then we moved it into the main room where we had the music pumping and the uplights shining. We’re not trying to sell you on an uplighting package, but it REALLY does make a huge difference. Having the ability to transform the mood and color of a room with a single click is truly something that will make your event that much more memorable.
For this event, a lot of the friends and family that came from out of town were from the Southern parts of the US so our music choices definitely had to be on point. We played a lot of country favorites and everyone had a great time singing and dancing along – there’s nothing a country crowd likes more than singing, thats for sure! The kids and adults were all super fun – we would do parties with the Kanter family over and over and over again.
We know you have a choice when it comes to entertainment, so we thank you for taking the time to check out Charizma and read our blog – make sure you inquire about our services for your next party, we promise you won’t be disappointed!
